All I can say is, Thank You Holy Spirit!
It is with complete humility and reverence that I can say that A Course In Miracles—its teachings, the energy of the teachings, and what it taught me about myself—has saved my life. In my darkest moments, I have been able to open the Course and find my way back to the light. Since 1979, it has been my most constant companion, my greatest mentor, and my wisest teacher. It has been the foundation of all of the work I have done in the world. I could not imagine that it could be better or wiser than I have come to know it.
Then, I received the announcement from the Circle of Atonement that there would be a Complete and Annotated Edition, offering even more light and greater teachings. I have seen the excerpts of the new version and all I can say is, Thank You Holy Spirit! Browsing through the pages I had the most startling revelation. In the 38 years I have studied and taught the Course, I have never made it all the way through the Manual for Teachers. I fell in love with and found my life through the Text and the Workbook. That is where I have remained. I now know and understand that my soul was waiting for this: the Complete and Annotated Edition.
This is exactly what I love about the Course: it gives you what you need, when you need it, in a way that you can receive it. Whether you are new to its teaching or a long-time student like myself, there is something for you, for us, for the world in the Complete and Annotated Edition. Knowing this as I do, I can hardly wait to see the good that will come from what we are about to learn. If you are serious about finding the light of love, walking in the presence of love, and living authentically as a demonstration of love, you owe it to yourself and the world to gift yourself a copy of A Course In Miracles, the Complete and Annotated Edition. Thank you to the Foundation for Inner Peace for their selfless and tireless commitment to keeping this work alive in the world for all these years. And thank you Holy Spirit for gifting me a glimpse of the good that is yet to come.
With Joy and Reverent Excitement,

A crucial clarification of what the author really meant
After studying and teaching A Course in Miracles almost since its original release, it is a pleasure for me to read and review Robert Perry’s new adaptation of the original document without the editorial deletes that were done in the first release.
His hard work was necessary and crucial for clarification of what the author really meant. Done in a scholarly way, this was a huge undertaking for Perry and a gift to us, as he reveals the truth of what A Course in Miracles is about.

“This is the definitive edition of A Course in Miracles.” — Allen Watson
“We’ve been waiting for this a very long time.” — Emily Bennington
“This is one book you don’t want to miss.” — Jeffrey Long
The definitive edition of the Course
Robert Perry has done students of ACIM an invaluable service. This is the edition of the Course I have wanted for years—ever since I realized that the words of Jesus given to Helen Schucman had been edited. I wanted to know what he said, not what someone else thought he should have said. It turns out it makes an incredible difference. Not that it changes the central message of A Course in Miracles—no, not that. But it makes it much clearer. It changes the emphasis in many places (the emphasis Jesus’ voice had, which Helen and Bill recorded in ALL CAPS in their typescript, is here preserved with subtle underlining) and in a few instances completely flips the sense of a sentence. This is the original stuff! To Course students, opening this edition is like a Bible scholar finding a first-century Greek manuscript of one of the gospels.
Add to that all the material from the original notes that was totally left out of the popular edition of the Course, cross references, Bible references, explanatory footnotes, and Robert Perry’s illuminating cameo essays about that extra material, and you have a book that Course students will treasure and study passionately. This is the definitive edition of A Course in Miracles. I intend to use the Circle Edition in all my study groups from now on.

A landmark moment in the history of the Course
This edition is a landmark moment in the history of A Course in Miracles. With both a scholar’s eye for accuracy and a teacher’s love for the material, Robert Perry has provided a true service for generations of Course students. I know I speak for many when I say that we’ve been waiting for this a very long time.

A treasure trove of insights and inspiration
A Course in Miracles (ACIM) is among the most important spiritual writings in the history of humankind. This new Complete and Annotated Edition of ACIM is based on the original handwritten notes of Helen Schucman, the woman who channeled it. This is one book you don’t want to miss. The simple but powerful truths throughout this book will change your life. With each turn of the page you will find a treasure trove of insights and inspiration. The remarkable and life-enhancing wisdom in this book is a gift beyond price. This outstanding book is expertly written, remarkably easy to read, and enthusiastically recommended.

A new, definitive, and monumental resource
The Complete and Annotated Edition of A Course in Miracles is a new, definitive, and monumental resource that will be “evergreen” and in use for as long as A Course in Miracles exists. It features extensive content that’s never been previously published, a comprehensive footnoting system, and thirty-three cameo essays with even more new information that is too personal to the lives of the Course’s scribes for inclusion in the Text. Hands down, the biggest source of controversy and differentiation surrounding the various ACIM editions has to do with editing. The Complete and Annotated Edition resolves this by embracing a minimal, “less is better” editing style. Style issues having to do with formatting, terminology, and punctuation are also addressed.
First the content. Altogether, there are about forty-five thousand newly restored words in this edition. They’re important because they undo the progressive shortening of Course content that derived, in a cascading way, from earlier editions. Most Course students don’t realize, for example, that not all of the words that Helen Schucman took down in her notes made it into the Urtext. Not all of the words in the Urtext made it into the second draft. Not all of the words in the second draft made it into the Hugh Lynn Cayce Version, and not all of the words from the Hugh Lynn Cayce Version made it into the FIP version. Now, for the first time, previously missing or abbreviated information is painstakingly recaptured and conveniently available in one place.
Second is footnoting, which can only be described as ah-maze-ing! Almost every single page has at least one footnote and there’s usually a set of them. A snapshot of information contained in the footnotes includes the definitions of hard-to-understand terms, biblical references to the KJV, NKJV, and RSV editions, interpretations and meanings of psychological conditions and the experts who articulated them, literary references, editing comments, and just about anything else the reader might wonder about. The footnotes are so detailed and extensive, it will add more reading and thinking time to absorb them all.
And lastly, the cameo essays are a unique bonus section not found in other Course editions. The cameos present the reader with clear, interpretive Course commentary and vivid personal stories about Helen Schucman, the woman who took down the Course. These snapshots enable the reader to meet and relate to Helen on multiple levels, not just as scribe but as psychoanalyst, woman, friend, and wife. What issues did Helen struggle with and how did she apply Course principles in her real life? What was the nature of her personal guidance from Jesus? These questions and many others are answered in full. Readers get relevance, depth, and richness, but in a more casual, conversational way.
The Complete and Annotated Edition is highly recommended to all Course students who want to read the original wording as received by Helen and to those who appreciate instant help to better understand what the Course is saying. It’s also a “must have” reference book for all Course authors or anyone who serves in a lead or explaining-type role in the ACIM community.

A closeness to the Course I haven’t experienced before
I want to thank Robert Perry and the Circle of Atonement for their amazing undertaking in giving us the Complete and Annotated Edition of A Course in Miracles. It’s a blessing. I’ve been a student of ACIM since the early 90s and am the founder of the Swedish “Forgiveness School” based on ACIM. ACIM is my life! The Complete and Annotated Edition gives me a closeness to the Course I haven’t experienced before. It supplies new information and new insights.
The essay on “The Issue of Authorship” is in my view essential. Every word in ACIM gains an added importance when I’m connected to the author. Words without an author lack the needed source. To hear Jesus “talk” to me in my study of ACIM makes him a loving and guiding part of my life. To read the Text as it was supposed to be (of this I feel certain), with Helen Schucman’s Notes as they were given, gives an added understanding of the material. There’s a “smoothness” in the reading, needed explanations are available, and the material “wakes up”!
Through the Complete and Annotated Edition, I’m certain we get ACIM as it was supposed to be. I’m immensely grateful, Circle of Atonement, for your work.
— Ulla Wallin, founder of the Forgiveness School, Sweden
In January of 1976, Doug Dean, a Princeton engineer and the person who introduced Judith Skutch, the publisher of A Course in Miracles, to Bill Thetford and Helen Schucman, came to the Philadelphia area to give a presentation on Kirlian photography. At the end of that presentation, which I attended, Doug said he wanted to share something he had been introduced to unexpectedly in 1975, when he met Bill and Helen. When Doug started reading the fifty principles of miracles from A Course In Miracles (ACIM), a profound chill went up and down my spine. I had never heard anything like it. ACIM was later published by the Foundation for Inner Peace in June 1976.
I was delighted when I received my first copy in August of 1977 and eagerly read through the fifty principles of miracles, thinking that it covered everything the Voice of the Course/Jesus said about miracles. When I saw the Complete and Annotated Edition of ACIM, published by the Circle of Atonement (COA), I was thrilled to discover that there was actually much more that the Voice/Jesus said about the principles of miracles, which added to, clarified, and at times shifted somewhat the meaning or focus of miracles from a purely intra-individual experience to an interpersonal one.
In addition to the expanded discussion of the principles of miracles in the Text, I also very much enjoyed the more personal cameo essays in the COA edition. Although this expanded edition of ACIM is at times challenging to read, the dedicated ACIM student will definitely want to read this thorough and up-to-date edition.
The editors of this edition (COA) have shown a lot of devotion, commitment, scholarship, and love in producing this complete, annotated, and comprehensive edition of ACIM. Highly recommended.
